Best Time Of Day To Play Slots

broken image

The best time of day to play is the time of day you want to play. Neither the time of day or day of week has any effect on your chances of winning. You're absolute right to say that the clock and the calendar have no effect on the RNG. Your chances of hitting a winning combination on any particular machine are the same on every spin.

Has anybody since the introduction of server based control of slot machines tracked the best day and time to play slots for greatest payout. This last year I have unofficially noticed slots appear to pay better on Friday and Saturday night and aweful on Friday morning and all day Sunday/Monday. My understanding is slots machines are now controlled via a main server and not individual chips manually inserted/replaced by slot tech. My theory played out again this last weekend with some good wins Friday and Saturday night and aweful on Friday morning and all day Sunday/Monday. I keep thinking the casinos are trying to encourage play when people come to town and take the money back on Sunday and Monday before they leave.

With that in mind, the best time to go to the casino to play slots is when the jackpot is high! Of course, the actual time the jackpot is won is completely random and is not based on a certain time of day, date, or month - it is purely down to Lady Luck. Play When the Jackpot Hasn't Been Won for a Long Time. In any case, it's not true. Time of day, day of the week, and special events in town are all irrelevant to your chances of winning. Pulling the lever is more likely to generate a win than pushing the spin button. This might slow down your play a little bit, but it won't increase your chances of winning. This last year I have unofficially noticed slots appear to pay better on Friday and Saturday night and awful on Friday morning and all day Sunday/Monday. As far as which day of the week is the best day to visit a casino, I personally have had my best luck on the slot machines on Saturday night after 2 AM (which technically would be Sunday morning.) It is almost.

My understanding from a slot manager in Reno is the casino industry had gone to server based slot payout. The random luck of hitting that machine with a chip ready to payout is gone. The casino slot payout % is controlled via server according to NV state law. The days of waiting for a slot tech to change the chip(50/50 it is a payout chip are gone).

That's only true under the assumption that the casino doesn't dynamically change their floor on a schedule as the OP said. At least two major gaming manufacturers, IGT and Bally, have systems that allow precisely that to happen -- and at least the Aria is totally set up for that technology. On-the-fly floor mix changes is one of the benefits of server-based gaming. The question is 'if that's implemented, what's the schedule?'.
To my knowledge, most casinos have not implemented server-based gaming in this level of detail. It's still very much a turn-the-key process.

It is my understanding that even with server-based slots, the casino would have to fax in a report for every machine they change the return on every time they do it. That would be a lot of paperwork to tighten and loosen the slots on a daily and weekly basis.
Even if we ignore that issue, it wouldn't be good business to loosen and tighten slots according to the hour or day. For any given casino there is going to be some optimal return to set the slots at, according to denomination. Same as any other game. Make the machines too tight on a busy night, with a captive audience, and you may make more money temporarily. However, you'll create ill will among all the players who lost, and they will be less likely to return.

I'm pretty sure the regulations support, or are being reworked to support, electronic update submissions. It doesn't make sense to have high speed changes on the floor when you can't get them across to the state in high speed.
That said, I'm not sure I agree that it's not good business. It's very commonplace in other industries to charge different fees for the same services at different times. Lunch always costs less than dinner. Even in table games, you can find a $5 table mid-day Thursday but not Saturday evening. Other than changing the game entirely, the two levers the casino has are denom and edge. Most slot games are multi-denom, so that leaves only edge. In my mind, taking a multi-line penny machine from 92% to 90% on a Saturday evening isn't much different than taking a dice table from $5 to $10. Casino games have different EVs based on location, why not time?

'Casino games have different EVs based on location, why not time?'
I always thought different EV's based on slot location was a myth because of the random assigment of the chip. I don't know.

I mean downtown vs. Strip vs. airport. But there's nothing random about which EEPROM goes into which machine. Those are all specifically identified on the floorplan.

If you have wondered when the best time to play online slot games is, we will clear things up for you. To put things simply, when it comes to winning at slots, it doesn't matter what time of day, day of the week, or month of the year it is. An online slot game's return to player (RTP) will remain constant, regardless of these variables.

So, rather than focusing on what time you play an online slot game, you should instead familiarize yourself with the game's RTP and understand how random number generators (RNG) work.

What Is an RNG

Play4fun Casino Fkc

An RNG is an algorithm that slot machines use to generate numbers constantly, even when the machine isn't currently being used. Usually, the generator will generate hundreds of numbers in one second. Each number could range anywhere from 1 to several billion. Players have no way of influencing the number that is generated. Furthermore, each generated number is completely independent from previous numbers.

How Does RTP Work?

RTP is the percentage of wagered money that slot players will receive back over time. You will typically find online slot games with RTPs ranging from 82% to 98% The higher the game's RTP is, the more likely you will win back your money and make a short-term profit. In the long run, the house has the edge, but you still have the chance of making it big. To increase the likelihood of landing a winning combo, you should play a slot machine with a high RTP, such as 98%. However, these games usually won't have huge jackpots.

Because numbers generated by an RNG are totally random, and the RTP stays constant, you can see that there really is no advantageous time of day to spin the reels at an online casino. Liberty slots no deposit.

However, there is one important factor to keep in mind: the number of active players! Some gambling experts say that the more people that are playing online slots, the sooner a jackpot will hit. So, this is more likely to happen during a time when most people are at home relaxing and playing slot games, rather than during the workday. However, many gambling experts often state the contrary and cite the Inverse Correlation Theory. Basically, they say that when fewer players are active, the likelihood of anybody winning increases.

Do Slots Pay More at Night or at Certain Times of the Month?

No, slots do not inherently pay more at night or at certain times of the month. However, you can check in with your online casino to see if they are offering any promotional bonuses such as cash matching and free spins.

Should You Play Now?

Jacks or better poker strategy. Because of the random nature of online slot machines, you can hit the slots at any time. However, there are some factors to keep in mind. Best slots to play at a casino.

How to Decide When to Play Slots

Even though a slot machine's RNG and RTP are not influenced by the time of day, there are still other factors you should take into consideration when deciding whether to play online slot games.

  • Set a gambling budget: You should not hit the slots until after you have determined a gambling budget. Once you set the number, stick to it. Do not wager any money that you cannot afford.
  • Jackpot: If the jackpot is high and hasn't been won in a long time, this is a great time to test your luck. Every jackpot has to be won eventually.
  • Your Mood: Only gamble when you are in a good headspace. In order to gamble responsibly, you need to know when to take breaks from playing online slot games.

What About Land-Based Casinos?

Land-based casinos do not adjust a slot machine's RNG or RTP depending on the time of the day. You can play whenever you want and still have a chance of winning, regardless of whether you are in the casino during its peak hours or its slow hours.
